The anticipated salary range for this role is between $210,000.00 and $245,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. JOB SUMMARY:
This position sits within the MANUBANK Financial Crimes Compliance (FCC) department. The FCC department is responsible for developing the Bank’s BSA/AML and Sanctions Programs to ensure that the bank achieves optimal compliance with all related laws and regulations.
We are seeking an experienced and talented Director, Head of KYC to lead our organization's Know Your Customer (KYC) program and remediation efforts. As the Head of KYC, you will drive the enhancements and oversight of KYC for the commercial and digital banking units. The chosen candidate will maintain and enhance KYC policies and procedures, conduct related training, and execute effective communication. The candidate will manage a group of KYC leaders, as well as oversee KYC related initiatives aimed at improving the KYC Program's effectiveness and efficiencies. The Head of KYC will play a critical role in managing and optimizing the KYC process, ensuring compliance, and mitigating risks within the organization’s operations.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the development of KYC processes including Customer Identification Program (CIP), Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) ensuring compliance with bank policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices within agreed timelines.
- Lead and manage a team of KYC team leaders by providing guidance, mentoring, and supervision to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
- Execute strategies for efficient KYC processes, streamline and optimize KYC data, tools, KYC procedures, and escalate regulatory, audit and/or internal control issues pertaining to BSA/AML matters the BSA Officer.
- Oversee the KYC Quality Program ensuring that errors and observations from Quality Control (QC), Quality Assurance (QA), Compliance Monitoring & Testing, Internal Audit and Regulators are accurately remediated in a timely fashion.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and key risk indicators (KRIs) to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of the program, identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate strategies for sustainability.
- Make risk-based sound decisions on matters requiring management attention.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd lines of defense by participating and leading relevant KYC projects, initiatives, and training; influence changes to processes, procedures, and controls to mitigate KYC compliance risk.
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key metrics, trends, and areas of concern related to the KYC production team's performance.
- Provide Subject Matter Expertise on potential risks identified during KYC and Enhanced Due Diligence review process; Develop and conduct KYC-related employee training on a regular basis.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, internal and external auditors, and other stakeholders to address KYC related queries, examinations, and audits.
- Conduct a Staffing Needs Assessment on an annual basis to measure expected demand.
- Perform special projects, remediation, and assignments for KYC Program-related activities as needed to support the KYC program.
- Keep abreast of changes in regulatory requirements and evolving trends in financial crime to adapt the organization’s practices accordingly.
- Maintain proficient knowledge of the rules and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA PATRIOT Act, FFIEC Manual, and evolving banking landscape.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd lines of defense leading relevant KYC projects and initiatives.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
- Work Experience: 10+ years of specialized experience in Financial Services and KYC/CDD/EDD compliance with 5+ years of experience in managing a large KYC team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field;
- In-depth knowledge of KYC, USA PATRIOT Act, BSA Act, FFIEC manual, regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and emerging trends.
- Proven track record of maintaining effective KYC programs, policies, procedures, and controls.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and the capability to think strategically and execute action plans.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a remote, dynamic, fast-paced environment, and adjust to changing priorities.
