Head of Enterprise Data Access Management and Privacy Classification

The Head of Head of Enterprise Data Access Management and Privacy Classification is a global leadership position within Enterprise Data and Analytics (EDA) team responsible for working with across EDA team all capability pillars as well as close partnership with internal constituent groups managing Enterprise Data access management and privacy classification for Takeda. This role will be accountable for transitioning the organization’s data access model to a more fine-grained, domain-specific approach while ensuring strict adherence to data privacy, security, and audit requirements. This role leads all the data access and privacy classification enterprise programs, technologies/platforms and DevOps team.

The role will be accountable for safeguarding company data, IP, people, customers, shareholders, and brand by implementing strategy, architecture and platforms and solutions that ensure that the right people have the right access at the right time. This role will report to the Head of Enterprise Data Management and Innovation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Strategize, architect, develop, create and lead innovative platforms and solutions to strengthen the Takeda Data Classification and fine grain Data Access management practice, to consistently reduce our operational risk.
  • Accountable globally to lead Data Access management, Data Privacy Classification, Data Anonymizations/Tokenization and Data Audits initiatives and closely work with Data Governance, Information Security, Global Ethics and Compliance and BU/BF functions.   
  • Build Data Access Management roadmap to support new capabilities like AI/Gen AI .
  • Lead, influence and deliver strategic programs on time, budget and quality through internal and external partners in an effective and collaborative way.
  • Accountable global implementation of Data Access Management and Data Privacy Classification Tools and Platform (e.g. Immuta, Informatica)
  • Develop and lead an ecosystem of partners across the GDDT (Global Data, Digital and Technology) by building strong relationships with innovative external companies/vendors, senior Takeda leaders (across the value chain), and the Takeda ICC (Innovation Capability Center).
  • Hire, lead and develop a team of senior experts and managers with their career paths and learning goals
  • Lead and promote learnings/insights & technology expertise within the team to create the Data lifecycle practice
  • Oversee the team's business analysis, recommendations and project plans as needed.
  • Create a value realization plan and track progress against KPIs and metrics that define the ROI or success criteria for digital ecosystem investments.
  • Own escalation of incidents or process-related issues through agreed channels to avoid negative business impact.
  • Drive collaboration with architecture and operations teams to ensure solution compatibility with enterprise standards and ensure governance processes are respected.
  • Lead and develop opportunities to streamline and simplify the systems landscape through platform adoption, system rationalization, effective data management, etc.
  • Lead the delivery of cost efficiencies, synergies and optimize the use of corporate resources

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in a product owner, global delivery lead or team lead capacity
  • 7+ years of Identity and Access Management, Privacy Classification, Data Anonymization & Tokenization and Data Audit work experience, in-depth experience in Pharmaceutical or other heavily regulated industry
  • Architecting Access Management tools like Immuta for global organizations.
  • Understand new capabilities like AI/Gen AI and access management support needed.
  • Knowledge on the patient data ecosystem, its laws and data anonymization requirements. Understanding of HIPAA and patient de-identification requirements
  • Experience in software development life cycle, agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
  • Strong detail orientation, communication and interpersonal skills are essential in this role.
  • Ability to effectively liaise with all levels across the organization.
  • A team player and self-starter.
  • Highly analytical and collaborative qualities with strong technical, strategic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced operational environment where change is the norm

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills as well as comfort using those skills to drive change and alignment
  • Ability to break down complex product requirements into actionable user stories

  • Excellent project management, prioritization and decision-making skills
  • Prior experience in highly regulated Healthcare Industry/Pharma

U.S. Base Salary Range:

169,400.00 - 266,200.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location. 

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
