Job overview:
As the Head of Ecommerce you will primary focus will be driving and delivering OnBuy’s growth strategy. You will accelerate our digital growth by delivering and trading dropship solutions for brands and distributors who cannot currently list themselves on OnBuy while ensuring the solution provides a seamless customer experience.

You will play a key role in supporting our strategic supplier acquisition plans, competitive pricing strategies, and excellent digital execution ambitions.

Also responsible for transforming our ecommerce business while enhancing our competitive pricing and the volume of our product quality and customer offerings.


Key Responsibilities :

1.  Strategy and Growth:

  • Develop and execute the overall strategy that sources high-demand products via dropship across any categories on OnBuy
  • Own and deliver the GMV and growth targets associated with the strategy
  • Lead the acquisition and onboarding of dropship sellers
  • Drive significant YoY growth through dropship supplier expansion
  • Create and implement competitive pricing strategies across targeted products
  • Expand supply across all of OnBuy's international sites (Starting with the UK)
  • Monitor and report on the performance of the business unit and all necessary KPIs
  • Develop and implement data-driven forecasting models and analytical frameworks to identify the next significant opportunities for growth
  • Work with marketing teams to optimise digital marketing strategies for dropship products

2. Supplier Management and Development:

  • Lead the identification and acquisition of key 'gap-plugging' dropship sellers
  • Commercially secure terms that meet unit economic requirements, covering supply, shipment, insurance, quality, customer dissatisfaction, etc.
  • Work with Legal Counsel to develop and maintain robust dropship agreements and terms & conditions
  • Establish clear compliance frameworks for supplier onboarding and ongoing operations
  • Develop and manage relationships with these suppliers
  • Develop international supplier relationships to support expansion into new markets
  • Drive the onboarding of these sellers through driving direct integration of supply partners to automate into OnBuy's API/ecosystem (For product data, stock, dispatch, tracking)
  • Propose, implement and optimise pricing automation systems to maintain market competitiveness
  • Safeguard supplier compliance with platform standards and policies
  • Ensure the collection and maintenance of correct data to create high-quality products on OnBuy

3. Commercial and Trading:

  • Lead trading strategy and execution for these suppliers and their products
  • Oversee promotional calendar and trading events
  • Direct trading and marketing of products to create ROI
  • Identify and capitalise on emerging market opportunities and missing product segments
  • Implement and optimise pricing automation systems to maintain market competitiveness
  • Develop and execute international trading strategies, leveraging cross-market opportunities
  • Continuously optimise and enhance business performance metrics

4. Operations:

  • Develop end-to-end dropship operations, from order placement, delivery and after-sales service
  • Create and maintain standardised processes for system integration with suppliers
  • Drive operational excellence across the function
  • Lead cross-functional relationships with IT, marketing, sales and operations teams to deliver and enhance the strategy
  • Support customer service to design and implement viable customer support for direct relationship sales
  • Design and enforce refund and returns processes for suppliers

5. Analytics and Performance Management:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive performance dashboards and reporting frameworks
  • Lead data-driven decision-making across all aspects of the dropship operation
  • Create and monitor KPIs for supplier performance, product performance, and operational efficiency
  • Implement predictive analytics to identify market trends and opportunities
  • Establish frameworks for measuring and optimising ROI across all initiatives

Requirements

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Experience in successfully building and scaling marketplace operations, managing retailer relationships, and integrating with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional trading results.
  • Demonstratable expertise in system implementation, data analytics and international trade
  • Proven track record of delivering substantial marketplace growth (>100% YoY)
  • Experience in supplier acquisition and relationship management
  • Strong understanding of marketplace platforms and operations
  • Experience in managing technical implementations and system optimisation
  • Deep knowledge of competitive pricing strategies and market dynamics
  • Experience in managing large-scale digital transformation projects
  • Strong commercial acumen with P&L responsibility
  • Track record of implementing successful digital innovation
  • Experience in managing technical implementations and system optimisation

Benefits

The salary on offer for this role is up to £70,000 to £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
