The Head of Cybersecurity plays a vital leadership role, setting the strategic direction and overseeing all aspects of our cybersecurity program. This role is crucial for building and maturing a robust and comprehensive security posture across GFiber, contributing directly to our mission of delivering fast, reliable, and secure internet access. This leader will foster a culture of security awareness and proactive risk management throughout the organization.
Role Description
As the Head of Cybersecurity at GFiber, you will be a highly technical and hands-on leader responsible for the strategic direction and execution of our comprehensive cybersecurity program. You will not only define and implement security policies, standards, and procedures to protect GFiber's networks, systems, data, and customers but also actively lead the technical implementation of key security initiatives. You will bring deep expertise in areas such as AI-driven security architecture and implementation. You will lead and mentor a team of security professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. You will report directly to the Head of Technology and work closely with other senior leaders to ensure alignment between security strategy and business objectives.
In this role, you'll:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy aligned with GFiber's business goals and risk tolerance, with a focus on leveraging AI and automation.
- Lead and manage a team of security professionals across various security disciplines (e.g., security operations, security engineering, GRC), providing technical guidance and mentorship.
- Oversee and actively participate in the execution of security projects, particularly those involving AI and machine learning in security.
- Oversee security incident response, threat intelligence, vulnerability management, and security awareness programs.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including executive leadership, engineering teams, and legal/compliance functions.
- Stay abreast of emerging threats and security best practices, recommending and implementing innovative security solutions.
- Manage the cybersecurity budget and resources effectively.
- Communicate security risks and performance metrics to senior leadership and the board.
At a minimum we'd like you to have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- 10 years of experience in cybersecurity leadership roles, with experience in building and managing high-performing teams.
- Experience with developing and implementing effective cybersecurity strategies.
- Experience with security architecture, operations, engineering, and GRC.
It's preferred if you have:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Business Administration (MBA), or a related field.
- Experience with cloud security, particularly in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience working with AI-driven security architecture and implementation.
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions, including security due diligence and integration.
- Recognized industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CCISO.
- Prior work experience in the telecommunications industry.
- Experience presenting to and influencing senior leadership and board members.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $231,000 - $318,000 + bonus + cash award + benefits. As pay varies by location, your recruiter will share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
