Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and service-minded Head of Brokerage to join our team and lead our real estate brokerage across all markets in the US and Canada. This role is responsible for overseeing the performance of our Broker Team ensuring compliance and managing our brokerage operations, and will involve strategic planning, data analysis, and broker relations with agents, staff and brokers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in real estate brokerage management, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of success. Experience with a company focused on evolving the real estate industry is key. 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of brokerage activities, ensuring alignment with company goals and regulatory requirements

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to our US and Canada broker teams, ensuring that Real delivers exceptional brokerage support to agents in their representation of clients

  • Consistently evaluate best practices for brokers and Real to adhere to NAR and regulatory requirements by working closely with the brokers and our legal team

  • Define and conduct training to support the broker team’s enhancement of agents’ knowledge and understanding of contract, conflict & risk management, licensing and state real estate law

  • Effectively consult and engage with the Brokers in problem solving matters associated with difficult or complex transactions and agent issues

  • Conduct periodic surveys of agent satisfaction with brokers’ performance and support.

  • Foster a high-performance culture that emphasizes teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement 

  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational efficiency and profitability

  • Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to ensure the company remains competitive

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • A service-oriented leader with an interest in mentoring and motivating team members and agents through influence and relationship building

  • Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and ensure compliance

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and agents

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.

  • Strong business acumen and understanding of fundamental business principles.

  • Ability to make quick decisions and solve problems using good judgment & data analysis

Education and Experience:

  • 10-15+ years of direct experience in an executive-level management role within the real estate brokerage industry, with a deep understanding of U.S. residential real estate markets. Knowledge of the Canadian market is a plus.

  • Prior experience in attracting, developing, and retaining a team, with strong leadership skills

  • Experience working in a technology company in the real estate industry is preferred

  • Have a keen interest in and high-level experience in real estate compliance activities including a deep knowledge and understanding of legal obligations of real estate professionals under the state and federal law, Department of Commerce Rules & Regulations, Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Code of Ethics and MLS Rules and Regulations

  • Active real estate broker license required

  • Residential real estate experience required

  • Member in good standing with the National Association of REALTORS

  • Bachelor’s degree highly preferred

  • Must be based in the US
