What you will accomplish together with us:
- Innovative Development: Collaborate with experienced engineers to develop, assemble, and test advanced optical and imaging instrumentation, ensuring optimal functionality for life science applications.
- System Integration: Assist in hardware integration, system calibration, and performance validation, contributing to the seamless operation of complex systems.
- Mechanical Design: Engage in mechanical design, prototyping, and alignment of components, applying engineering insights to enhance system performance.
- Automation Workflows: Develop automation workflows for efficient data collection and analysis, driving research capabilities forward.
- Embedded Systems: Work on firmware and control systems for embedded hardware, including FPGA and microcontrollers, to support cutting-edge technology development.
- Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of experiments, designs, and findings to support ongoing research and development.
What will convince us:
- Educational Background: Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biophotonics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related program (undergraduate or graduate level).
- Technical Expertise: Basic understanding of fluorescence microscopy and optical systems, with experience in mechanical design and system alignment.
- Embedded Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with embedded systems and firmware development, including FPGA and microcontrollers.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, ensuring precision in all tasks.
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Compensation for this position will be a base salary of 28.00/hour.
