Role Overview
PIC, a Genus company, has an exciting opportunity. We are looking for a GTC (Gene Transfer Center) Quality Assurance Manager to provide high quality Technical Services to our own, contracted and customer boar studs. The position has primary responsibility for the development and implementation of quality assurance and control measures to ensure the highly efficient production of superior quality semen doses yielding maximum reproductive performance in customers and company owned farms. In that position the GTC Quality Assurance Manager will collaborate closely with regional resources within the global male reproduction team. Further the position will act as a “liaison manager” to major AI vendors with control and oversight on the “Preferred Vendor Program”.
The successful candidate is able work in a culturally diverse, fast-paced environment, including the ability to multi-task and anticipate needs while managing competing priorities and maintaining attention to detail. The candidate will also possess strong communication skills, both verbally and in written form, as well as organizational skills.
This position is located remotely in the US and requires regular international travel to support local entities and key customers based on business needs.
The salary range for this position in the US is $100,000 - $125,000 USD. The salary provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Genus considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
We would also consider employees working in other countries where Genus does business in LATAM and EMEA. Compensation and benefits would be aligned to that country.
You Will
- Develop, maintain quality assurance and control systems for key customer, contracted, and owned GTCs
- Drive efficiency initiatives with global key accounts to improve genetic dissemination
- Enable local resources to take advantage of quality control results and take action to address risks, discover opportunities
- Audit the QA programs of AI vendors supplying materials to PIC GTC’s and advise Production business leaders in selecting safe, high-quality materials
- Manage relevant research projects specific to GTC quality control and reproduction
- Partner with and support Key Account Managers in the management of key accounts and collaborate with the relevant parties as necessary
- Travel approximately 50% internationally
Requirements
Basic Qualifications: (required)
- English language proficiency
- Advanced degree in animal, agricultural, veterinary or life science
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing or consulting Gene Transfer Centers, including in-depth knowledge in quality assurance and control processes in the area of agriculture or bioscience
- Basic understanding of data analytics and statistics
Preferred Qualifications:
- Spanish language skills
