As our Group Underwriting Support Assistant, you'll support underwriting and business partners by gathering and processing information to help determine renewal rates and employee eligibility for insurance. You’ll prepare renewals across various product lines, including Life, Dental, Vision, and more. Your work ensures accurate and timely handling of both in-force and new business policies.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  • Hourly Wage: $19.25 - $21.00 per hour, plus annual bonus opportunity.
  • Remote opportunity.
  • Benefits and Perks, 401(k) plan with a 2% company contribution and 6% company match.
  • Regular associates working 40 hours a week can earn up to 15 days of vacation each year.
  • Regular associates receive 11 paid holidays in 2024, which includes 2 floating holidays that are added to your prorated personal time to be used at your discretion.
  • Regular associates are provided sick leave through the use of personal time. Associates working 40 hours a week can receive up to 40 hours of personal time in 2024, which is prorated based on the start date. Additionally you will receive two floating holidays in 2024 by way of personal time that may be used at your discretion.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Review and verify census data with precision, and monitor revisions to accurately rate renewals.
  • Manage the renewal process efficiently, troubleshoot system errors, and maintain documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and business partners, using strong decision-making skills.
  • Utilize databases to document reporting requirements and generate system reports.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while adhering to industry guidelines, confidentiality, and HIPAA standards.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Proficiency using Excel including advanced functions such as V-lookups and pivot tables. 
  • Excellent customer service and relationship building skills.  
  • Adaptability and the ability to learn quickly.  
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Critical thinking skills, sound judgment, creativity and flexibility. 
  • You promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously, remaining curious in all that you do.
  • Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.

PREFERRED:

  • Experience in professional office roles involving insurance products and services.  
  • Experience in underwriting for group or individual insurance products.
