The Institutional product team is building a fully scaled markets business that serves the largest institutions (Investment Managers, Corporates, Hedge Funds, Marketmakers, Pensions etc.) in the world by providing the most highly-featured, capital efficient, robust platform across all “verbs” (buy, sell, store, lend, borrow, earn etc.) 

Access to financing is a key requirement for all these customers, and we believe that providing products to meet this need in a first-class, rigorously risk-controlled, institutional-grade way is a huge opportunity for Coinbase and the crypto economy overall.     Solving for this the Institutional Financing + USDC team is building a full-service prime brokerage business for crypto assets that provides holistic financing solutions, integrated with custody and execution services, delivered via a scalable, trusted, compliant platform.

What you’ll be doing

We are looking for an experienced product manager to lead a significant part of the Financing product range.  This will include operating and iterating on successful existing customer-facing products such as Agency Lending, which we believe will become a category-defining product in crypto, as well as developing and building totally new ones.  

As the owner of all Supply products on the Institutional Financing + USDC team you’ll own the products, systems and capabilities that customers use to “earn” on their crypto, those that we use to source assets and funding, and those that ensure the right assets get to the right place at the right time at the right price to facilitate the investment journeys of Coinbase institutional customers globally.  Your success will positively impact the investment strategies and returns of hundreds of institutional clients, and by improving the breadth, depth, and cost of financing in crypto you will have a material positive impact on the development of the digital asset ecosystem overall.

You will:

  • Identify market opportunities and competition, build business cases and determine product and business strategy
  • Manage the entire product life cycle from planning to execution on a mix of already-roadmapped and wholly-new products and features
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Design and other cross-functional teams to develop product concepts, document requirements and user journeys, and ultimately to quarterback the rapid delivery of new capabilities and features to customers
  • Define and analyze metrics to guide product operation,  business development and risk management
  • Align teams around  a shared product vision and steer execution across multiple quarters 
  • Communicate progress on initiatives and KPIs to cross-functional partners and executive leadership
  •  Relentlessly focus on proactively measuring, mitigating and managing risk in all its forms

What we look for in you

  • 5+ years of product management or product development experience - or significant relevant domain expertise and a passion for learning new skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication, relationship management and organizational skills
  • Deep analytical, prioritization and problem solving abilities, and the ability to work effectively with incomplete or ambiguous information
  • Experience shipping new and iterating on successful products at scale
  • Demonstrated product leadership, including evidence of the ability to guide product strategy and create alignment with senior engineers, designers, and cross-functional partners
  • Demonstrated passion for cryptocurrency, financial markets, and the Coinbase mission
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently, and the drive to break down barriers and make things happen

Nice to haves

  • Domain expertise or practical experience in Agency Lending, Securities Lending, Prime Brokerage, or Financing Trading in a financial services environment 
  • Experience building for or working with Institutional clients, ideally in financing, repo  or funding  products

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full time offers from Coinbase also include target bonus + target equity + benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)).Pay Range: $236,725—$278,500 USD
