Graphic Designer, Creative Lab
US - California - Southern - Remote
The Creative Lab is an in-house design team that provides end-to-end brand support for Illumina’s products and services. We incorporate design thinking, experiences and create scalable marketing solutions within defined business goals. As the Visual Designer, you will be working across multiple channels to create, maintain and evolve Illumina’s design to amaze our customers. You will be working closely with various teams to ensure consistency and innovation are present in all elements of our evolving brand expression. The ideal candidate will be a design champion who inspires those around them and is obsessed with establishing and upholding the highest standards of quality. You utilize knowledge of design and cultural trends to guide creative solutions. You want to be part of a close-knit, highly engaged teams who values collaboration and shares a quest for creative excellence.
Job Responsibilities

- You are comfortable working closely with roles outside of design, such as developers, product managers, science writers, and strategists
- You feel proud to present your work and have strong communication skills
- You feel confident working alone, though also enjoy collaborating with others to solve design challenges
- You are self-motivated and able to prioritize and manage multiple creative efforts in parallel
- You are passionate about design thinking, engaging in creative concepts and being a champion of visual excellence across all Illumina teams
- You understand how to design strategically across all mediums, audiences and touchpoints
- You will contribute to refining our brand guidelines, support product launches, segment-based campaigns, branded activations & broader organizational creative tasks
- You are an expert in color theory, layout, and graphic design using Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop
- You feel comfortable using Adobe XD, Figma, and Sketch
- You have familiarity with After Effects, Premiere, and Media Encoder
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or related fields
- An online portfolio showcasing your mastery of brand identity, graphic design, and visual excellence
- 5+ years of professional experience in the visual design field within an agency or in-house setting
