Working with our Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering Group, this position offers good variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Development of technical and public-facing memoranda, reports, and plans
• Data analysis, field investigations, walking audits
• Development of graphics, tables, charts and exhibits
• Community engagement including in-person and virtual methods
• Application of techniques, theories, and best practices in transportation planning

The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to evaluate, select, and apply standard planning techniques, procedures, and criteria along with the application of sound professional judgment, under supervision. The position requires developing written content and reports for multiple audiences in support of projects. The ideal candidate will have an academic and/or professional background in transportation planning. Our planners work hand in hand with our engineers, landscape architects, and digital analysts to develop plans that are implementable and meet our clients’ needs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate knowledge of the transportation planning and design field, and a belief that sustainability and multimodal safety are integral to our transportation system.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience conducting community engagement activities
• Bilingual skills
• Proficiency in GIS application towards transportation planning field
• Proficiency in transportation analysis or simulation software (Synchro/SimTraffic, Vissim, Vistro, HCS, Sidra)
• Proficiency in travel demand modeling software (TransCAD, Cube, Visum) is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Professional or academic experience with transportation policy, planning, analysis, or design
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Proficiency in developing, managing and analyzing large and complex databases

  Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree in Planning, Community Development, Engineering, or related field
• 0-2 years transportation planning experience

The position can be located in the Sacramento region or other regions of California within proximity to a GHD office. Currently, many staff are working remotely; this position may require in-office attendance as negotiated between the selected candidate and supervisor, as well as attendance at periodic in-person meetings and community engagement events.

GHD encourages commuting by bicycling, walking, and taking transit. Our Sacramento office is accessible to transit as well as bicycling and walking facilities.

Salary range: $60,000.00 -$71,500.00 based on experience.
