The Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion provides leadership to faculty, staff, and students in developing and implementing strategic initiatives that promote the School of Education and UW– Madison’s mission.

Qualifications:

-Demonstrated commitment fostering a welcoming, respectful, and supportive environment for all individuals from all backgrounds
-Proficiency with office productivity software (Microsoft Word, Box, Google Drive, etc.)
-Attention to detail
-Proficiency with content creation-website creation, social media content, external and internal marketing content
-Preferred: Scholarly interest in higher education

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

-Knowledge and use of social media for professional purposes
-Ability to manage large databases
-Communication and outreach skills
-Proficiency with marketing and communication software (WordPress, Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator etc.)

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Principal duties will include:

-Education Graduate Research Scholars [Ed-GRS]: Assist with Ed-GRS Orientation, Professional Development Series, administration of Ed-GRS nominations and continuing scholars, as well as other Ed-GRS events and administrative tasks.
-Precollege Program: Assist with the design of summer and academic year programming. Assist in maintaining community contacts, hiring instructors, curriculum development, implementation, and administration.
-Summer Education Experience Program [SERP]: Assist with SERP recruitment efforts and support activities, including contributing to drafting proposals to extend the scope of SERP.
-Serve as a representative of the OEDI and the School of Education at campus and outreach events, as well as during recruitment efforts.
-Represent OEDI at the School of Education communication meetings, where necessary, and provide different communication materials as requested
-Other duties as assigned by the Graduate Program Manager, the Undergraduate Program Manager, and/or the Associate Dean for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.

Most duties will fall under the portfolio of the Graduate Program manager or the Undergraduate Program Manager, but there may also be opportunities to work with other staff in the office. The fellow may also receive designated tasks directly from the Associate Dean for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion at various points throughout the appointment period.
