Grad Intern - Therapeutic Area Safety (Summer 2025)
What You Will Do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. This internship will work with Therapeutic Area Safety. This team is responsible for ongoing signal detection & analysis, content of aggregate reports and Risk Management Plans for products in collaboration with EU QPPV. This team works cross-functionally with various Safety groups at Amgen to monitor product specific adverse events.
Responsibilities could include:
- Supporting process improvements by gathering requirements and developing automations.
- Work cross-functional to support various systems enhancements/initiatives.
- Conduct ongoing signal detection and analysis for assigned products.
- Develop and maintain content for aggregate reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with the EU QPPV on the preparation and implementation of Risk Management Plans (RMPs).
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including other Safety groups, to evaluate and monitor adverse events for Amgen's product portfolio.
- Support regulatory submissions and communications related to safety documentation.
- Stay updated on pharmacovigilance regulations, trends, and best practices to ensure adherence to global standards

Basic Qualifications:
Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:
- 18 years or older
- Graduated with a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Currently enrolled in an MBA program for an MBA internship OR a Master’s program for a Master’s internship OR a PharmD program for a PharmD internship OR Ph.D. for a PhD internship from an accredited college or university and completion of the first year of MBA OR Master’s OR Pharm D OR Ph.D. program before the internship starts
- Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship or co-op assignment
- Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
- Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree concentration(s) in Biological sciences, Pharmacy, Health Services research, Public Health, or related health or science field
- Graduating within 12 months of internship’s completion
- 1 or more years relevant work experience
- Biotechnology, pharmaceutical or health care industry experience
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
- Strong interpersonal, project management, analytical and quantitative skills
- Proficient in one of the coding languages (Python, Java, Scala, SQL)
- Detail oriented
- Demonstrated personal initiative, self-motivation, flexibility, adaptability and resourcefulness
- Ability to effectively operate independently, across functional lines, and with both internal and external customers

The base pay range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $30 - $40 per hour.
