Zayo is seeking a Government Security Analyst to support the Government Security Manager in ensuring compliance with US Federal Government security requirements and establishing the Zayo government security program. The ideal candidate will have foundational experience working with government agencies, including the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community, and a basic understanding of federal security processes. The Government Security Analyst will contribute to managing compliance programs, assisting with risk mitigation, and supporting internal security initiatives. This role offers an opportunity to grow and develop within the security space, and the specialist will work closely with the manager and other team members to ensure the company's security obligations are met.
Responsibilities
Assist in building and establishing the Zayo government security program.
Assist in implementing and maintaining compliance with NIST 800-53 and FedRAMP requirements.
Support the Government Security Manager in managing security risks and ensuring security measures align with federal standards.
Help maintain and develop relationships with government customers and federal technology partners.
Assist in the process of obtaining and maintaining US Government clearances for team members.
Support incident response efforts for security matters related to government customers.
Assist in preparing and maintaining accurate documentation for audits and compliance reviews.
Stay informed about emerging security trends and technologies relevant to the government sector.
Contribute to training and development programs that ensure the team remains up-to-date on security protocols.
Participate in day-to-day security operations, helping resolve security issues as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience) and 5 years of experience.
2+ years of experience in the security field, ideally with exposure to federal government or DoD security processes required.
Experience building and establishing a government security program required.
Experience or knowledge of NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, or similar frameworks is required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government clearance.
Basic understanding of Federal contracting processes required.
International government awareness (Canada & UK) preferred.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft and Google Suites of products.
Base Salary Range: $78,500 - $112,200 USD/annually, commensurate with experience.
