The Chancellor’s Go Big Read program is the largest university common read program in the nation. The common read program was designed by former Chancellor Carolyn “Biddy” Martin to engage members of the campus community and beyond in a shared, academically-focused reading experience. Each year the Go Big Read program invites students, faculty, staff, and community members to read the selected book, engage in classroom and community book discussions, and participate in community events. - Great organizational and professional communication skills- Strong attention to detail, and ability to manage time while working on multiple simultaneous projects
- Excellent writing skills; familiarity with writing for social media is considered a plus
- Currently enrolled at UW-Madison
- Ability to lift boxes of books ~10 pounds

Position Summary/Job Duties:
In this position, the student assistant will help manage logistical tasks for the Go Big Read program. This position will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Managing the inventory/distribution of books
- Managing the program’s email account and communication with the public
- Coordinating course integration and communication with campus instructors
- Editing and creating Go Big Read related web pages using WordPress
- Assisting with management of the Go Big Read program social media presence using Twitter and Facebook, as well as writing articles for the program’s blog
- Opportunities to serve on committees related to the program (e.g., Book Selection, Steering, and Book Discussion Questions)
- Projects of professional/personal interest are also available
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift boxes of books ~10 pounds
