ABOUT THE ROLE: 

Working with a globally distributed team, the Global Solutions Architect will act as the design authority and will have technical oversite across a set of global applications. The Global Solutions Architect will collaborate with other senior technical leaders in the Technology department and contribute to the overall technical vision of the organization. The role requires a software architect who is proficient at delivering complex applications, breaking down barriers for the team(s), planning at a higher level and collaborating with the Project Management Office to define the technical direction for global applications. The Global Solutions Architect is required to help with defining the overall architecture with design and development, ensuring end to end functionality supports the evolution of the business for 24/7 uptime. The role is heavily involved in planning product development, creating and managing effective timelines, offering feedback to solution leaders and business units and communicating with top managers to ensure the goals of the department are aligned and achievable.    

  

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED   

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience working as a software developer
  • Minimum 3 year’s experience leading developer 
  • Excellent analytical skills for both business and technology solutions, including the ability to articulate complexity in a clear concise manner  
  • Strong business sense and sense of urgency to achieve business results. 
  • Strong experience with Azure applications and integration in Azure
  • Experience with setting up automated deployment pipelines for applications and data solutions using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and related tools. 
  • Ability to design cloud-native application architectures leveraging microservices, serverless computing, and event-driven patterns. 
  • Strong experience in designing data architectures for both structured and unstructured data. 
  • Experience with Azure's analytical services, including Power BI and Synapse, to enable data-driven applications. 

 

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS PREFERRED   

  • Travel industry experience
  • Agile certification such as Professional Scrum Practitioner 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Work closely with the Enterprise Architect, Project Management Office (PMO) and other technical leaders to ensure Azure cloud architecture meets business needs. This includes leading architecture reviews, facilitating workshops, and engaging in proof-of-concept projects. 
  • Define, design, and oversee the architecture of scalable, resilient cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure, to ensure alignment with the organization's global needs for high availability, effective deployment, integration, and performance. 
  • Ensure Azure cloud architecture integrates effectively with other Microsoft technologies, including Dynamics CE and Power Platform, to create cohesive, end-to-end solutions that align with business needs. 
  • Establish strategies for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates or terraform, ensuring consistency, scalability, and efficient deployment of cloud resources. 
  • Ensure solutions follow best practices for Azure environments, focusing on application security. This includes securing APIs, managing Personally Identifiable Information (PII), and implementing robust authentication and authorization mechanisms.  
  • Lead efforts in researching and evaluating emerging cloud technologies and Microsoft solutions, including those related to Azure, Dynamics CE, and Power Platform. Develop proof-of-concepts and provide recommendations to leverage new technologies that align with business needs and support continuous innovation.
  • Ability to attend in-person meetings each quarter in Denver, Colorado headquarters.
  • Ability to adapt to and accommodate global time zones as needed.

The Information Systems teams at the Globus Family of Brands are structured into four areas—Core Services, Tour & Cruise Technology Services, Marketing Technology Services and Technical Advisory Group —and comprise architects, developers, technical business analysts, application support, and quality assurance specialists. Together, these teams drive the development and execution of technological strategies that support the company’s business goals.
