We can offer this role on a hybrid basis working 3 days a week from our HQ in Hoffman Estates, IL.
About the Role
As a Global QA Senior Technical Manager, you will be a key player in our Global Quality Assurance (QA) team. You’ll lead technical functions, keep our business ahead of EU and NA legal requirements, and drive continuous improvement within the QA team. You’ll also have the opportunity to deputise for the Global Technical Manager when needed, making this a truly impactful role.
What You’ll Be Doing
Quality & Compliance:
- Ensure products are tested, documented, and safe for sale in compliance with legal standards.
- Provide training on legal requirements to buyers, suppliers, and relevant teams.
- Oversee and approve product orders on systems like PEMS (EU) and AS400 (NA).
Collaboration & Leadership:
- Work closely with the Global QA Operations Manager to ensure timely approval and logging of test reports.
- Partner with the Global Technical Manager to align EU and NA technical teams with the latest global standards and policies.
- Actively participate in pre- and post-trip buying meetings, offering expertise on product safety, materials, and best practices.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to improve quality standards and compliance.
Process Improvement:
- Monitor and report on supplier performance, implementing corrective actions where needed.
- Generate and analyze reports to ensure all product lines have necessary certifications, including Children’s Product Certificates and Declarations of Conformity.
Leadership & Development:
- Manage, mentor, and develop direct reports to achieve both personal and professional goals.
- Provide regular feedback, set objectives, and lead by example to inspire excellence within the team.
- Keep senior management updated on all QA technical developments.
Who You’ll Work With
Internal: Field and corporate teams across the EU and NA. External: Global suppliers, test houses, and other third-party providers.
What We’re Looking For
Education & Certifications:
- Degree or equivalent in Law, Chemistry, or a role-specific qualification.
- Or equivalent job experience in a similar field.
Experience:
- Proven experience in a quality-focused role within a test house, global retail environment, or legal consultancy.
- Familiarity with EU and NA legal systems, particularly in prosecuting or defending cases.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong working knowledge of EU and NA product laws and standards.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including macros and pivot tables.
- Bonus: Fluency in a European language (French, Spanish, or German preferred).

Compensation Range: $95,680.00 - $128,960.00Claire’s is committed to adhering to all applicable company policies and federal, state, and local laws and regulations. All positions will be compensated at or above the legally mandated minimum wage for the location in which work is performed. The final compensation will be determined by various factors such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.
