Global Product Manager

As part of Arxada's Consumer Microbial Control (CMC) division, the Global Product Manager (GPM) will handle the product portfolio focusing on the Paints & Coatings business division. You will develop product strategies, including pricing, margin management, and asset investment validation, to improve profitability and enable sustainable growth for Arxada. This role involves running global product portfolios and bridging inbound functions (e.g., Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, Regulatory) with outbound functions (e.g., Sales, Marketing) for relevant assets and product platforms across all global markets and regions. You will facilitate information sharing, accountability, and cooperation among stakeholders. Additionally, the GPM will lead key initiatives, including portfolio rationalizations, asset consolidation, capital expansion justifications, insourcing/outsourcing activities, and other value chain and profit improvement projects.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Manage operative pricing and tactical tasks during special events (e.g., peak demand, shortages, raw material volatility) for assigned market fields/product groups
  • Develop pricing strategies and coordinate cross-functional cooperation, sourcing input, and market intelligence to align pricing and margin improvements with business targets. Sets pricing floors based on these factors and segmentation
  • Partner with operations to define and develop the portfolio related asset strategy to support sustainable business growth and accommodate new product releases, including make vs buy decisions
  • Regularly review portfolios for improvements, including SKU consolidations, minimizing SMOG risks, deciding MTO/MTS and collaborating with supply chain on inventory level reviews
  • Drive gross profit optimization projects (e.g. underutilized vs overutilized assets, optimize asset/ product utilization), affecting different product portfolios
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop product road maps by analyzing competitor and supplier landscapes, pricing, product positioning, and cost competitiveness. Use market intel to drive activities ensuring sustainable growth and increased profitability
  • Facilitate product commercialization and coordinates with front end development, product development, and marketing for smooth implementation of new and revised products.
  • Coordinate product launch activities with marketing, technical, operations, supply chain, and sales to meet market demand and timing
  • Own the new SKU creations, modifications and rationalizations
  • This position may require an estimated 10% travel

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering (or similar)
  • Min. 5+ years proven experience in chemical process engineering (preferred) or product management experience in chemical industry (B2B)
  • SAP experience required
  • Understanding of product development lifecycle from idea to commercialization
  • Experience with processes and unit operations in a specialty chemical manufacturing environment
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to run detailed analyses, draw conclusions and make recommendations based on data
  • Ability to lead meetings, generate actions items, follow up, and drive projects to completion
  • Customer centric mindset
  • Operational Pricing expertise and experience with pricing management software (preferred)
  • Growth mindset, result-driven, motivated teammate and influencer capable of understanding complex problems and developing appropriate strategies to overcome challenges

The expected salary range for this role is $117,000 to $135,000 USD, but specific employee compensation may vary depending on factors including experience, education, training, licensure, certification, location and other job-related, non-discriminatory factors permitted by law.     

This role is also eligible to earn a short-term incentive bonus and the following benefits: 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, paid time off, paid holidays and paid sick leave.
