ABOUT THE ROLE
The Bid Management team is responsible for overseeing the creation of high-quality proposals and managing the efficient proposal process. The Bid Manager ensures the organization and coordination of the different phases of the proposal process, as well as the involvement of experts in proposal creation. Strong communication skills are essential, particularly in interactions with clients. The Bid Manager is accountable for ensuring that proposals are comprehensive, tailored to client needs, and perceived as convincing sales documents by our customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze tender documents to identify customer requirements and needs.
Support sales staff in qualifying customer inquiries and convey customer expectations and goals to the proposal team.
Responsible for planning, managing, and executing the proposal process, ensuring that high-quality proposals are delivered within the given time, budget, and resource constraints.
Ensure the quality, completeness, and accuracy of proposal documents.
Organize and follow up on workshops and meetings.
Prepare and conduct internal reviews involving relevant support units as part of the approval process.
Coordinate the proposal team in creating and presenting proposals, as well as in client presentations.
Assist in proposal cost calculations, with a focus on pricing based on customer objectives, especially in multi-stage tender processes.
Utilize and support the development of tools and processes for Bid & Proposal Management.
Ensure compliance with Quality Gates and apply insights gained into the sales and proposal processes (e.g., Win/Loss analyses).
REQUIREMENTS
Several years of experience supporting bid teams, with a completed degree (technical/business-related) or comparable qualification.
Structured and independent working style in a performance-oriented team.
Experience in leading (remote) teams with strong self-motivation.
Flexibility, creativity, innovation, and resilience with a strong sense of teamwork.
Proficiency in creating convincing proposals in Word and PowerPoint.
In-depth knowledge of project management with a focus on budgeting, planning, and cost calculation (Excel); ideally complemented by an APMP© certification.
Strong communication skills and fluency in both written and spoken German and English.
