Genetic Counselor - Hybrid

Labcorp Genetics, part of the LabCorp Specialty Testing Group, is seeking a motivated, self-starter to join a team of genetic counselors to support busy maternal fetal medicine practices in Southern California. This individual will be responsible for providing in-person and virtual comprehensive prenatal genetic counseling services and will also support our Results Reporting Programs.

Please note: this is a hybrid position. The Genetic Counselor will be required to work onsite in clinic in the greater Los Angeles metro/Orange County and work remotely from home. Candidates must be located in the Southern California area or be willing to relocate. This is not a fully remote role.

The schedule for the position will be: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care for a wide variety of complex indications from an extensive referral base both onsite, and via video conference
• Engage in professional growth opportunities including writing abstracts and publications, physician education and other projects
• Have access to the expertise of a nation-wide organization of medical geneticists, biochemical and molecular geneticists, and over 100 counseling colleagues

Requirements:

• MA/MS in Human Genetics/Genetic Counseling
• ABGC/ABMG certification or active candidate status required
• Candidates with current ABGC certification highly preferred
• Previous prenatal genetic counseling preferred
• Must be able to obtain CA Genetic Counselor license prior to start date
• Highly organized, including excellent time management skills
• Strong multi-tasking ability with excellent attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Strong computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office

**Salary Range: $94,000- $125,000 per year

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
