About the Role
The Gas Meter Installer reports to the Smart Meter Deployment Manager at Bermex. This position will play a key role in gas meter maintenance, exchange, and measurement. This position requires a high degree of walking in outdoor environmental conditions, excellent time management, and exceptional flexibility day to day.

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Bermex salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to customer contact terms, location, experience, and performance. Other rewards may include Paid Time Off, 401(k) retirement savings plan with company match, ESOP contributions, medical, dental, and vision insurance, and other region-specific benefits as eligible.
Salary Transparency Disclaimer: For those residing in NY, the pay for this role is at $25/hr.
What You’ll Do
· Gas Meter Exchanges
o Perform visual inspections of gas service for leaks
o Identify hazards at meter sites and report accordingly
o Properly change out gas meters of varying sizes and brands
o Properly change out gas meter registers for AMI/AMR upgrade
o Perform safety checks to ensure proper installation
o May require walking for long distances (occasionally up to 20 miles per day) in various weather conditions (rain, sleet, hail, snow, extreme heat or cold, etc.)
o May exert physical force moving objects (routinely 10lbs. of force, up to an occasional 50 lbs. of force)
· Customer Communication
o Refers all consumer complaints to the appropriate authorities
o May provide general information about the meter services to customers, when applicable
o Use telephones, tablets, and/or computers to communicate
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: None. Must be 18 years of age or older.
