Fundraising & Donor Relations Manager

Drive impactful change in the global energy transition by leading philanthropic foundation fundraising and cultivating donor relationships at Ember, all while working in a collaborative, innovative, and remote environment.

Reporting to the COO and working closely with our regional teams, this position will be responsible for creating and driving effective fundraising strategies, managing a portfolio of prospective and existing donors, developing strong and reciprocally beneficial relationships with them, and growing income for Ember. The candidate should be a collaborative and experienced professional who is highly motivated and initiated to drive goals to fruition. Your work will have a real impact in moving the world towards a zero-carbon power system, in a diverse, fast growing and innovative organisation

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective fundraising strategies to match the institution's mission and fundraising expectations
• Tap into existing networks and build new networks to increase Ember’s visibility amongst philanthropists, corporates, trusts and foundations 
• Identify & develop new donors and maximise fundraising opportunities
• Manage funder relationships and funder reporting
• Identify and implement innovative fundraising strategies
• Monitor, evaluate and learn from Ember’s impact

Fully remote role, Ideally looking for applicants based in Asia, Europe, UK

Requirements

Must have

• Minimum of 5 years of fundraising experience, including at least 2 years demonstrating the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, or in collaboration with senior leadership in a partnership manner
• Demonstrated success in meeting and exceeding financial targets
• Network with philanthropists, corporates, trusts and/or foundations
• Experience in presenting to different types of donors through creating compelling narratives
• Highly developed, engaging and professional written and verbal communication skills across diverse stakeholders
• Strong relationship building and ability to persuade and inspire
• Sound Google Suite skills
• Knowledge of best practices in Fundraising & Donor Relations Management
• Passionate about the global energy transition
• Experience in both Europe and Asia
• Fluent in spoken and written English

Nice to have

• Experience in fundraising or donor relations management in the energy industry
• Experience in building a financial reserve
• Experience in modern ways of fundraising
• Other language skills (especially Asian ones)

Benefits

Salary: £51,750  Salaries may be adjusted depending on a location cost of living formula, but will not be below 75% of advertised figure.

Contract:  Full time (but only working 9 days every fortnight with no reduction in pay), permanent subject to a 3 month probationary period.  For employees based outside of the UK, a local payroll contract is available, dependent on the country.
