Description

The Fund Manager plays a critical role within the CSD Social Venture Fund (SVF), leveraging expertise in venture capital, fund management, investment banking, and private equity. This position demands exceptional financial acumen, including proficiency in financial analysis, reporting, and modeling. The Fund Manager will have a dotted line management relationship with the Director of Finance and will be responsible for maintaining investor relationships, providing comprehensive financial analyses, and ensuring accurate financial reporting to drive the success of the SVF. 

Requirements

Essential Functions 


Financial Reporting and Analysis 

  • Oversee the preparation and rigorous analysis of financial statements and reports for SVF, ensuring accuracy and full compliance with regulatory standards. 
  • Spearheads the development and implementation of financial controls and processes to optimize venture capital activities. 
  • Collaborate strategically with the Director of Finance to deliver comprehensive financial analysis and detailed fund performance reporting, leveraging extensive industry experience to drive financial insights and decision making. 


Investor Relations for Fund II 

  • Act as primary liaison for Fund II investors, addressing all financial information needs  
  • Prepare and distribute financial updates and reports to Fund II investors, ensuring clarity and precision. 
  • Organize and lead investor meetings and presentations for Fund II, providing necessary financial data and strategic insights. 
  • Address investor inquiries related to Fund II promptly, providing necessary financial data to support investor decisions. 


Fund Management 

  • Oversee and report on the financial performance of venture capital investments in Fund II. 
  • Lead the valuation of investment portfolios and the preparation of financial models for Fund II. 
  • Collaborate with the Director of Finance in assessing and structuring new investment opportunities for Fund II, ensuring financial soundness. 


Financial Operations Support 

  • Ensure the maintenance of accurate financial records and books for the SVF, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and other regulatory requirements. 
  • Lead regular reconciliations and financial audits to ensure data integrity. 
  • Oversee the implementation and management of financial systems for SVF and its subsidiaries' efficient fund management operations. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Extensive knowledge of venture capital, private equity, investment banking, and fund management. 
  • Strong financial analysis and reporting skills. 
  • Proficiency in bookkeeping, financial operations, and financial controls. 
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual team environment. 
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, including Microsoft Excel and financial management systems. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
