Job Description:
Intel Automotive is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intern to join our Functional Safety Engineering team. This internship offers valuable experience in safety-critical systems and exposure to industry standards such as ISO 26262.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Assist in conducting safety analyses including FMEDA (Failure Modes, Effects, and Diagnostic Analysis) and FTA (Fault Tree Analysis) under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Support the development and documentation of safety requirements and specifications.
- Participate in software and hardware safety architecture reviews and contribute to design discussions.
- Assist in the verification and validation of safety-critical systems and components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Software Engineers, Hardware Engineers, and Quality Assurance to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of safety processes and methodologies within the organization.

Qualifications:
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research and relevant previous job and/or internship experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
- SW development-related projects and or experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Interest in Functional Safety, with coursework or projects related to safety-critical systems
- Basic understanding of safety standards such as ISO 26262
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or Java
