Full Stack Software Engineer, Premium Email Products

About the Role
Abnormal Security is seeking a Full stack Software Engineer to join the Premium Email Products (PEP) team. This team is responsible for building and operating Abnormal’s AI Security Mailbox and Search & Respond products. Our goal is to automate the workflows of the Security Operations Center (SOC) team by providing reliable, intuitive, and user-friendly products that help them save time in their daily tasks.
As a full-stack team, we handle all layers of development, including data storage, backend, and frontend. The ideal candidate will have experience working across the entire stack and possess in-depth knowledge of both frontend and backend development. This role is 60% back end and 40% front end.
What you will do
- Design and execute software projects which are critical to Abnormal’s success with a group of engineers through conception, design, implementation, launch & operation
- Provide guidance and mentorship for junior members of the team
- Collaborate with Technical Program Managers, Product Managers, and Go-To-Market teams to implement, verify, and iterate on the issues & requests coming from our customers
- Raise the bar of excellence in engineering, actively contributing to knowledge sharing within the team and participating in professional development activities
- Hit the ground running, contributing to the teamwork in the first two weeks
- You’re able to leverage AI Developer tools such as Copilot or Cursor in your daily workflow
Must Haves
- BS degree in Computer Science, Applied Sciences, Information Systems or other related engineering field
- 3+ years of industry experience designing & building full stack software applications
- Experience with our stack:
- Expert in React, Redux, JS/Typescript
- Intermediate+ Python and/or Go skills
- Experience building features & components from scratch and operating them, balancing feature development work with operational tasks
- Open to following pre-established guidelines, coding practices and conventions
- Experience working with distributed teams, proficient in asynchronous and written communication
- You’re growth driven & looking to increase impact & responsibility over time
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with our stack: AWS, K8s, Django, Postgres/MySQL, Prometheus
- Familiarity with AWS services and deployment practices.
- Knowledge of containerization using Docker or similar technologies.
- Experience with distributed systems
