THE ROLE

We’re looking for a talented and motivated Full Stack Software Engineer Intern to join our team for Summer 2025! As a Software Engineer Intern, you’ll help build and fix features, working closely with our experienced engineering team. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience, enhance your technical skills, and contribute to the development of impactful software solutions. Our team will include you in everything, from organization meetings to social events. You’ll be a part of Pinata from day one.

This internship is remote, with the option to work from our local office in Omaha, Nebraska, for 1-2 days per week. The internship dates are Monday, June 2, 2025, through Friday, August 8, 2025.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

    1. Collaborate with the engineering team: Work closely with experienced engineers to contribute to design, development, and testing.
    2. Coding and debugging: Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code. Debug and troubleshoot issues.
    3. Learn and adapt: Quickly learn new technologies and methodologies. Adapt to changing project requirements and contribute to the implementation of innovative solutions.
    4. Collaborative problem-solving: Engage in team discussions to analyze problems, propose solutions, and actively participate in the decision-making process.
    5. Testing and quality assurance: Contribute to the testing process by writing unit tests and participating in code reviews to ensure the quality and reliability of software applications.
    6. Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for code, design, and processes.

MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS

    • Currently enrolled in a college, a university, a certified training institution, or some other institution of higher education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar field
    • Graduation date of Fall/Winter 2025 or Spring/Summer/Fall/Winter 2026 (You must have at least one semester remaining)
    • Experience writing code in JavaScript and familiarity with other programming languages and tools
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Ability to prioritize and meet competing deadlines
    • Commitment to a full-time internship from Monday, June 2, through Friday, August 8, 2025

  • Familiarity with additional programming languages, such as Golang

Pinata Compensation Philosophy At Pinata, we compensate our team fairly and consistently by analyzing market data and benchmarking to ensure equitable, unbiased compensation. In accordance with pay transparency laws, Pinata provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired and performed in the United States. For the United States only, our salary range for this role is $40/hour.
