Heggerty is a literacy leader providing innovative, research-proven reading and writing solutions for Pre-K through 5th-grade classrooms. Heggerty’s integrated collection of literacy solutions provides teachers with the approachable, research-backed resources they need to close student skill gaps and supplement existing ELA curricula. 

About the role

  • The Full-Stack engineer will contribute to the architecture and systems for the Heggerty digital platform, all the way from helping our content teams build out curricula to helping educators teach in the classroom. 
  • You will collaboratively work across our internal teams to create a high-quality user experience and seamless integrations across the frontend and backend - allowing more and more teachers and students to access the Heggerty digital platform. 

What you'll do

  • Work with our product & design team to scope, refine, and iteratively develop a high quality user experience.
  • Work in Google Cloud to build scalable, resilient, and secure services and applications for both end-users and internal employees.

  • Contribute to backend APIs and frontend user experiences aligned to ed tech standards, making it easy for districts and schools to securely integrate with Heggerty.

Qualifications

  • Curiosity, empathy, and a passion for our mission and values
  • 2+ years of experience working in the cloud (GCP/AWS) deploying and supporting frontend and backend services

  • 2+ years of working with backend + frontend frameworks using JS/TS, React/Angular, Express, NextJS

  • Experience working with e-commerce platforms (Salesforce, WooCommerce, Shopify) is a plus

  • Ability to quickly pick up and work with new tools, technologies, and languages
