SUMMARY: Assist project managers (PM) and/or senior management in the planning, coordination, and execution along with the administration activities of construction projects from inception to completion. The project coordination (PC) will work closely with the PMs, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all safety and quality standards.
Annual salary: $55,000-$65,000 based on interview and experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Project Coordination: Assist the PM in overseeing all aspects of construction projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Documentation Management: Draft project plans for submission and maintain accurate project records, including contracts, change orders, RFIs (Request for Information), submittals, and meeting minutes.
- Scheduling and Monitoring: Create, update, and track project schedules to ensure deadlines are met. Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure that tasks are being completed according to the schedule.
- Vendor and Subcontractor Communication: Liaison with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services. Prepare weekly Certified Payroll documentation for all vendors and submit as needed for auditability and compliance. Gather and prepare installation access as needed for subcontractor entry to project locations.
- Budget Tracking: Assist in monitoring project cost, track expenses, lines of accounting on purchase orders, and help manage the project budget to prevent overdue invoices or overruns.
- Permit and Compliance Management: Ensure all necessary permits and approvals are in place before the start of work and monitor compliance with local regulations and safety standards.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks or delays and communicate them to the PM for resolution.
- Reporting and Communication: Prepare regular project updates and reports for internal stakeholders and clients to include hosting client meetings and maintaining a clear communication with all project team members
- Quality Assurance: Assist in ensuring that the construction work adheres to quality standards and specifications.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Associates Degree (AA) in Construction Management/Engineering or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of related project coordination experience.
- Basic knowledge of federal construction and contracting and experience executing construction contracts for USACE, NAVFAC, USAF and other Federal Agency is required.
- Specific knowledge/experience in a construction related trade is required – field experience is a plus
- Ability to develop schedules, procedures, project plans and understand specifications is required.
- Ability to assume responsibility, achieve assigned goals and work effectively with others.
- Ability to professionally communicate verbally and in writing is required.
