Right now, we’re on the lookout for a Finance Data Analyst to join our team.

 

In this role, you’ll help us streamline operations by automating processes and producing meaningful insights. You’ll be auditing, analysing, and optimising our financial data and processes, developing new auditing procedures, and informing data based decisions. Over time, you’ll take on more responsibility across our accounting team.

So, as the new team member, your main job will be to audit, analyse, and improve our financial data and processes to boost efficiency and accuracy.

You'll also play an important role in supporting the company’s sales team by analysing data to craft compelling proposals and ensure competitive pricing strategies. 

This will make a significant impact on our overall business operations.

More specifically, you will:

🧾 Analyse data from external invoices in different formats (CSV, Excel, PDF) to evaluate rates, fees, and discounts of potential clients, enabling the sales team to offer competitive rates.

🔍 Retrieve necessary data, identify analytical requirements, derive insights, and automate processes using tools like Power BI or Power Query.

📦 Create comprehensive reports to effectively communicate financial and business trends to management. Provide insights for decision-making and improve financial presentations based on feedback.

📑 Optimize the processes for weekly audits conducted on billing data for thousands of customer shipments to ensure the accuracy of information. Then, proactively use this data to identify trends, abnormalities and opportunities in customer behaviour.

💼 Optimize the processes for commission calculations from complex sales data, and for tracking sales performance metrics.

📊 Implement optimization strategies for audit and report processes, streamlining workflows, and ensuring efficiency. Develop and apply automation techniques in Excel to eliminate repetitive tasks, enhancing the accuracy and speed of regularly performed processes. 

🧾 Conduct ad hoc financial analysis as requested to address specific inquiries or to provide deeper insights into particular areas of interest (e.g. specific customer billing question)

📑 Work with cross-functional team and outsourced accounting firm to report and integrate financial and operational data. 

Working Hours ⏰:  Full-time, with primary work hours during US EST business hours. With core overlap between 9am EST to 3pm EST.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you need to have: 

✅ Profound Excel skills, as well as experience with Power Query, Pivot Tables, and Macros.

✅ Expertise in interpreting financial data to provide meaningful insights for informed decision-making.

✅ Excellent English communication skills and a professional attitude at all times.

✅ Experience in accurately preparing and analysing financial statements and reports, conducting audits, and providing strategic recommendations to enhance overall financial performance.

✅ The ability to quickly grasp new platforms and technologies essential for the role.

Bonus points if you can:

✅ Experience using Power BI.

✅ Translate feedback and insights into clear, relevant information for various audiences.

✅ Display technical proficiency in crafting data visualisations to improve comprehension.

✅ Demonstrate a friendly, adaptable demeanour when engaging with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.

✅ Exhibit initiative and creativity in tackling challenges and devising inventive solutions.
