JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Department of Ecosystem Science and Management in the College of Agricultural Sciences is seeking a full-time Program Coordinator for the Forest Owner Carbon and Climate Education (FOCCE) Program. The coordinator will serve as the center of support for the FOCCE cooperative which includes The Pennsylvania State University, Virginia Tech, North Carolina State University, Clemson University, Florida A&M, Tuskegee University, University of Florida and Mississippi State University. This position will work fully remote.
The primary duties of the coordinator will be to:
Support communication and information exchange between program partners, USDA Climate Hubs, extension professionals and client networks.
Serve as co-editor and contributor to the FOCCE newsletter, manage communications including social media
Provide logistical support for FOCCE events such as in person trainings, peer learning programs and project related travel.
Work with program leaders to complete assigned projects, develop work plans, and oversee project phases to ensure effective and efficient workflow
The position is funded for one year but may be extended based on funding.
Education and Experience:
This position will be filled at the level of Intermediate Support or Senior Support depending on the final applicant's education and experience. Minimum requirements for the Intermediate Support level include a High School degree and 2 or more years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional education and/or experience are required for higher-level positions. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and accuracy, excellent interpersonal skills, and a strong commitment to teamwork is also required.
A master’s degree in climate science, natural resources management, communications or a related field is preferred. Knowledge of forestry, Cooperative Extension and USDA Climate Hub programs, procedures, and systems is also preferred.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:
$38,300.00 - $61,000.00Salary Structure - additional information on Penn State's job and salary structure.
