Fire Systems Surveyor/Estimator - London Based
Morgan Fire Protection specialises in the delivery of planned and corrective maintenance of fire detection systems and portable extinguishers. While the majority of Morgan Fire’s operational resources are based around London, we provide national coverage through our reactive delivery model. We are currently looking to appoint a new Fire Alarm Service Engineer to join our team servicing the London and South East region.
Basic Salary – upto £45,000 per annum subject to experience

Morgan Fire's Fire Systems Surveyor's/Estimator's
Have a strong understanding of fire protection systems, including fire alarm systems and associated equipment. This role involves surveying client sites, estimating the cost of installations, quoting for remedial works, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards, especially BS5839-1:2017.
- Conduct thorough surveys of fire alarm and fire safety systems at client sites to assess current systems, identify areas for improvement, and establish requirements for new installations.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and quotations for fire system installations, repairs, and remedial works, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
- Identify and quote for remedial works or maintenance based on the results of surveys, ensuring all fire systems meet current standards and client specifications.
- Ensure that all designs and systems comply with BS5839-1:2017 and other relevant fire safety legislation and codes of practice. Provide expert advice and recommendations on compliance and best practices.
- Track the progress of projects, following up with clients and internal teams to ensure that works are completed within the agreed timeframe and budget.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as the main point of contact for all fire system-related queries. Provide clear and concise technical explanations of system requirements, estimates, and reports.
- Maintain accurate records of surveys, estimates, quotations, and follow-up activities. Prepare and submit detailed reports on system conditions and recommendations for clients.
- Conduct site visits to evaluate fire system requirements, assess any risks, and ensure that systems meet health, safety, and insurance regulations.
- Ensure that all fire system projects are estimated within budget, working with suppliers and contractors to secure competitive pricing.
Requirements
Who We’re Looking For
As well as having all the usual attributes of a great Morgan Fire Protection employee, such as; a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, well presented and professional at all times, ability to work alone and as part of a team….. For this specific opportunity, we are looking for candidates who offer:
- Experience working as a Fire Alarm Service Engineer or similar role.
- FIA Units 1-5 or Equivalent
- 18th Edition
- Any Electrical qualification would be an advantage
- Strong knowledge and experience with fire detection and alarm systems.
- In-depth understanding of BS5839-1:2017 and its application in fire safety system design and installation.
- Proven experience in surveying, estimating, and quoting for fire system installations and remedial works.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and team members.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Full UK driving license.
