Job Description:

GDIT is seeking FinOps Engineers! You will be part of our FinOps Team that supports our customer's cloud journeys with a focus on cloud cost optimization.

As one of the FinOps Engineers, you will be part of a team that is creating solutions for our customers that improve their efficiency of spend and consumption. We are seeking candidates who are able to deploy code and/or repeatable frameworks that allow scalable improvements to be made to infrastructures. Candidates must be able to communicate well with their customers throughout their Cloud journey. Successful candidates are eager to take the initiative on a very large Cloud resell program where optimization and attention to detail is crucial.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Developing scalable solutions that directly lead to lower spend and or improved utilization.
  • Assisting coworkers with collecting and reviewing financial data from various Cloud sources. (AWS Cost Explorer, Cloud native cost management tools).
  • Creates, maintains, updates financial deliverables via JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft excel or other financial dashboards.
  • Analyzes customer cloud requirements and provide technical knowledge on cloud computing techniques and technologies of low- moderate complexity.
  • Research, evaluate, and deploy cloud computing optimization techniques. Example: Low Utilization of Cloud Resources
  • Assists with the management of the AWS master payer account with 850+ linked accounts.
  • Extensive & timely customer service responses.
  • AWS Cost analysis using deep understanding of Cost usage reports
  • Participates in special projects as required.

Required Skills:

  • FinOps background
  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent experience
  • 2+ years relevant experience
  • Works independently under limited supervision

Desired Skills:

  • AWS Cloud experience a must.
  • Understanding of Cloud Technologies.
  • Analytic/ queries understanding for cloud billing.
  • Effective communication skills both orally and written.
  • Effective organizational skills.

The likely salary range for this position is $136,000 - $184,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
