Summary:
The paid JUMPSTART Internship Program will expose interns to many facets of the Financial Services division and our broader workforce consulting services. The Financial Planning Intern will support the Hauppauge, NY office but is available as a Remote role. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial planning, client relations, and investment management. The intern will work closely with our team of financial advisors, contributing to various aspects of the financial planning process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Plan Preparation: Assist in gathering and analyzing client financial data to develop comprehensive financial plans.
Client Meeting Participation: Attend client meetings alongside advisors, take detailed notes, and assist in follow-up tasks to ensure client needs are met.
Data Management: Enter and maintain accurate client information in financial planning software and CRM systems.
Research and Analysis: Conduct research on financial products, market trends, and investment opportunities to support client recommendations.
Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks such as preparing reports, scheduling meetings, and managing client communications.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; enrollment in a CFP Board Registered Program and Previous experience with financial planning or individual client service is a plus.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; familiarity with financial planning software is advantageous.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build strong client relationships.
Ethics: Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards.
Willingness to travel occasionally.
The typical base pay range for this role nationwide is$18 per hour.
Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company’s performance. We also offer eligible employees health, wellbeing, retirement, and other financial benefits, paid time off, overtime pay for non-exempt employees, and robust learning and development programs. You will receive reimbursement of job-related expenses per the company policy and may receive employee perks and discounts.
