Purpose of the Position:
The Financial Operations Analyst is responsible for analyzing financial data, monitoring financial performance, and providing insights to support business decisions. This role involves working closely with various departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and efficient financial operations.
What you’ll do:
- Analyze financial data: Collect, monitor, and study financial data to identify trends and recommend actions. Identify and correct data issues. Determine the cost of operations by establishing standard costs and collecting and interpreting operational data.
- Provide financial reporting: Prepare and present financial reports, comparing actual results with plans and forecasts. Maintain financial databases by entering, verifying, and backing up data.
- Enable process improvement: Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve financial processes and increase productivity. Lead projects related to financial and data analysis.
- Variance Analysis: Monitor variances, identify and interpret trends, and recommend actions to management.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data.
- Maintain technical knowledge: Stay updated with financial regulations and best practices by attending workshops and reviewing publications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis or a related role.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, SAP).
- Ability to professionally communicate fluently in verbal and written English.
- Ability to contribute to a diverse and inclusive work environment.
- Computer literacy/basic computer skills to effectively navigate and utilize the technology required for the role.
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience in education industry.
- Certification as CPA, CMA, or similar.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint) and other business tools such as Microsoft Teams.
- Knowledge of SQL, data mining, and database management.
Compliance:
- Demonstrate knowledge of and carefully follow all applicable federal and state compliance requirements and regulations including those prescribed by the U.S. Department of Education, accrediting agencies, state regulations, and internal policies and procedures.
- Effectively communicate compliance requirements to other staff as appropriate and quickly escalate any compliance concerns to the Compliance department.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- This is a full-time remote position.
- Home office set up, quiet place to work, and ability to hard wire into high-speed internet connection.
- May require setup of computer equipment; accommodation consideration available upon request.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as needed.
Anticipated starting salary is based on experience and qualifications.
Compensation Range$65,000—$75,000 USDOUR VALUES
