Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee the financial operations of our new Real Wallet payments product, a groundbreaking initiative for our real estate brokerage business. This digital wallet product enables agents to receive instant payments and access a line of credit. The Financial Controller will be responsible for managing the finances of our digital Wallet product, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, risk management, and compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee all financial operations related to the Real Wallet payments program, including daily transactions, payments to agents, and line of credit management.

  • Ensure accurate tracking and reconciliation of transactions, accounts, and funds.

  • Manage the month-end close process for the Wallet Program, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

  • Develop and maintain risk-based reporting frameworks to monitor the financial health of the Wallet Program, identifying potential risks and mitigation strategies.

  • Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports specific to the Wallet Program in accordance with US GAAP. 

  • Analyze the program's profitability, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for the Wallet Program, providing accurate financial projections and insights.

  • Manage the financial entity responsible for the Wallet Program, ensuring compliance with governance policies, legal requirements, and best practices.

  • Work closely with the R&D, Finance, and Operations team to ensure smooth integration of products introduced under the Wallet Program. 

  • Identify opportunities to automate processes related to payments, reporting, and reconciliation within the Wallet Program.

  • Monitor the Wallet Program's cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity to meet agent payouts and manage the line of credit.

  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decisions for the Wallet Program.

  • Assist in long-term financial planning, including scenario analysis and risk assessments.

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills with a strategic mindset.

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with senior management, the board of directors, and external partners.

  • Strong proficiency in Excel 

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and regulatory compliance

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is highly preferred.

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting, with a focus on financial operations, risk management, and reporting.

  • Experience in managing the accounting functions for a digital wallet product in the financial services or fintech space.

  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.

  • Experience with cost allocation, budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.

  • Familiarity with the real estate or financial services industry is a plus.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities is a must.
