Financial Business Partner

The Finance Business Partner is an analytical, problem solver with robust financial and business acumen. In this role, you will partner closely with the Strategic Finance Director, Business Unit Manager, Area Leader, and other key Business Unit Leaders. You serve as an integral member of the Finance and Administration (F&A) team and will orchestrate the finance function within a specified Area. This position reports to the Strategic Finance Director with dotted line reporting to the Area Leader.

Detailed Description:

In this role, you will use your financial expertise to partner with the Area Leader, as well as Project Managers and Project Analysts for the specified Area to optimize business results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Area Leader as a strategic business partner, providing insight and helping operational partners identify and address financial opportunities and risks.
  • Demonstrate strong business acumen; gain deep insights by learning and understanding BC’s business goals and operations through building relationships and visibility with the operations team, key business stakeholders and people leaders. 
  • Synthesize information and analyze data to help leaders see trends. Utilize data to make recommendations that lead to effective decision making.
  • Drive F&A initiatives. Demonstrate effective change management and communication strategies that align with business needs.
  • Monitor and manage project portfolio and schedule health.
  • Support ensuring company is compliant with laws & regulations, including project revenue recognition.
  • Monitor the accuracy of client project schedules to ensure accurate revenue by client forecasts
  • Review Estimate At Completion (EAC) values and document review of EAC (per internal control guidelines) within business systems.
  • Review monthly operating financial results and provide variance analysis (actual versus forecast versus budget), facilitating forecast refinements as needed.
  • Monitor Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and escalate issues, as needed.
  • Partner with project teams to maximize profitability, both at the proposal stage to enable favorable pricing and during execution to drive favorable project management.
  • Support corporate accounting needs, including but not limited to audit support, procurement activity and potentially joint venture accounting.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity, professionalism, and discretion in all aspects of your responsibilities. 
  • If working remotely, maintain a good/reliable internet connection and ability to work productively is required.
  • Occasional travel may be required (0-20%). 
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (preferred) or equivalent work experience
