Financial Analyst - Federal (Hybrid Remote)

Salary: $75,000 - 80,000/yearThis position allows for 3-4 days per week remote / work from home. We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team, focusing on federal financial projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting, with a deep understanding of federal regulations and funding processes. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent analytical skills, a knack for problem-solving, and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Analysis: Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to support federal projects, including variance analysis, forecasting, and budgeting. Provide actionable insights based on financial data to guide decision-making.
  • Budget Management: Assist in the preparation, monitoring, and management of project budgets. Ensure alignment with federal funding requirements and internal financial policies.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present detailed financial reports and summaries for federal projects. Ensure compliance with federal reporting requirements and deadlines.
  • Compliance: Monitor and ensure adherence to federal regulations, guidelines, and funding requirements. Stay current with changes in federal financial regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain financial models to predict project outcomes and assess financial impacts. Utilize models for scenario planning and risk assessment.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities. Provide recommendations for improving financial performance and efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, auditors, and other stakeholders to gather financial data and support project needs. Act as a financial liaison between federal agencies and internal teams.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation, including invoices, contracts, and compliance records. Ensure proper documentation for audits and reviews.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and recommend improvements to financial processes and systems. Implement best practices to enhance financial efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA) preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in financial analysis, with a strong background in federal financial projects or government accounting.
  • Skills: Proficient in financial analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, financial modeling tools). Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of federal financial regulations, grant management, and compliance requirements. Familiarity with federal accounting systems and reporting standards.
