The team

Our finance team consists of a group of specialists responsible for safeguarding and enhancing the firm's value. We manage liquidity, capital, and risk while providing robust financial controls and reporting functions to support executive decision-making. Our efforts directly contribute to Kraken's ongoing success.

The finance transformation team plays a crucial role in aligning with the finance organization's mission and objectives. We are dedicated to developing innovative and agile financial processes, promoting greater flexibility, resilience, and operational effectiveness.

By fostering a holistic vision and collaborative program development, we strive to execute impactful transformational initiatives and seamlessly integrate new products and processes.

The opportunity

  • Assess current state operating models and develop ideal target states by partnering with product, data, engineering, and/or other teams across Kraken

  • Collaborate within the finance systems workgroup to automate existing processes across general ledger teams (treasury, accounting, FP&A, and others)

  • Develop business process flows to evaluate gaps and areas for improvement 

  • Support process transformation, including technological and systems integrations and development 

  • Support building project plans and assist in governing and managing the cross functional finance program roadmap

  • Develop comprehensive understanding of the needs of finance, data, and key stakeholders to inform product specifications and requirements

  • Develop comprehensive understanding of the risks and implement adequate controls to mitigate those risks 

  • Additional duties and responsibilities as required

Skills you should HODL

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems

  • Significant experience in finance operations

  • Proficiency in management reporting and regulatory reporting

  • Skilled in data wrangling, scripting, and use of data visualization tools (e.g. Python, SQL, Tableau, etc.)

  • Project management experience including project planning

  • Proficiency with project and work-stream management tools (e.g. Airtable, Confluence, Jira, etc.)

  • Experience building process flows and identifying risk and controls

  • Proficient in writing business requirements and technical documentation

Nice to haves

  • Experience in fintech or in the banking industry

  • Experience with crypto currencies and knowledge of blockchain technology
