Field Technician II – Plant SCADA

The Opportunity
Ulteig is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Field Technician II. A successful candidate will work under technical direction and supervision to complete hardware/network installation and commissioning activities. These include but are not limited to network equipment configuration and installation, site wiring verification, and troubleshooting.
What You'll Do
- Configure, install, test, and troubleshoot network devices that interact with the Plant SCADA system.
- Read and provide feedback on site drawings based on field implementation.
- Supports troubleshooting for fiber, 120VDC and 24VDC, ethernet cables, and serial comms.
- Investigate the causes of site communication problems and hardware issues, make repairs, and/or advise customers on possible solutions.
- Work with project management to specify proper site hardware and networking equipment for specific project applications.
- Assist with connection and installation of MET (weather) stations and sensors based on client requirements.
- Share knowledge through daily progress reports, site photos, and lessons learned with the internal and external teams.
- Coach/train/mentor others on best practices and provide troubleshooting/root cause investigation assistance.
- Establish and maintain schedules and provide timely progress reports to internal and external teams.
What We Expect from You
- Two-year technical degree and 2+ years of experience
- Demonstrates proficiency and working knowledge of networking equipment such as managed switches, cabling, and fiber.
- Experience with diagnosing electrical issues with a multimeter and testing equipment.
- Experience with building and wiring a SCADA server rack.
- Familiarity with MET Stations and Sensors (wiring connections, installation, and troubleshooting).
- Demonstrates excellent communication, time management, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Present site visit/issues in a group setting and contribute to service development and knowledge (documentation/training tools).
- Ability to understand and trace MET Station, electrical, network, and fiber drawings.
- Experience with Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, etc.) and additional software knowledge depending on specialization.
- Proficiency in Field/Electrical Safety (Maintain individual inventory and inspect tools/PPE)
- Adaptability to day-of schedule changes, travel requests, and client needs.
- Travel requirements 50+%
- Must have the ability to work permanently in the US.

Additional Opportunity Details:
Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $75,400-$94,200
* Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your job specific skills, education, training, job location, number of years of experience related to this role and comparison to other employees already in this role
