Compensation Range: $20-$25/HOUR

Job Purpose
The Field Service Telecom Intern will assist experienced technicians in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting telecommunications and critical infrastructure. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience and industry knowledge in battery systems, DC Power systems, while working in a I.T Critical Infrastructure space. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and interested in a career in telecom, broadband, industrial or data center operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Installation & Maintenance
- Assist with pulling, terminating, and cable.
- Help install and configure network racks, battery systems, and telecom equipment.
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Support the installation & maintenance of various battery back-up installation solutions in various industries throughout the USA.
Testing & Troubleshooting
- Assist with identifying and resolving cable faults and connectivity issues.
- Support senior technicians in performing system upgrades and maintenance.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow OSHA, NEC, EnerSys, as well as industry-specific safety standards.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of telecom materials and tools.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Learning & Development
- Participate in on-the-job training and EnerSys courses.
- Gain experience in telecom and data center project planning and documentation.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies in telecom and battery technology.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; trade school or relevant coursework is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of electrical or telecom systems is preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel to different job sites as needed. Travel could be up to 75% to include overnight stays.
- Must be willing to work both day and night shifts as directed by superintendent. This may include overtime.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Opportunities for Growth:

General Job Requirements
- Must be able and willing to do overnight travel
- Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Risk of electrical shock.
- This position requires working in a plant/warehouse environment. Therefore, expect varying working conditions.
