Job Description:

As a Field Service Technician at Pitney Bowes, you will play a key role in the Client's life cycle and experience. We are seeing mechanically inclined individuals who enjoy working in a client-facing environment. In this role, you will provide service to a variety of clients and support field service for all our shipping and mailing technology, from Inserters to Lockers. A successful Field Service Technician is client-centric, has strong customer service, is comfortable managing significant windshield time, and has experience repairing or troubleshooting both hardware and software solutions. 

Your primary service area will be within 4 hours of Washington DC; some travel beyond this radius may be required. 

In this role you will have a consistent Monday – Friday schedule working in alignment with traditional office hours (some overtime may be required). The wage range for this position is $25 to $30 / hour, with the actual pay dependent on your skills and experience as they relate to the job requirements and the location where you will be performing the job. 

This position is eligible to earn an incremental incentive of 10% on any sale of service or parts you present to Pitney Bowes clients.

You will:

  • Install, service, and upgrade Pitney Bowes Shipping and Mailing equipment for our clients 

  • Support both Hardware and Software solutions 

  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment successfully with the goal of reducing Client callbacks 

  • Train clients on Pitney Bowes equipment at the time of installation 

  • Work in a 100% client-facing capacity as a representative of Pitney Bowes 

  • Cover a multi-zip code territory requiring significant windshield time 

  • Utilize hand tools or small power tools to execute repairs, maintenance, and installations of Pitney Bowes Shipping and Mailing equipment 

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment  

Your Background 

As a Field Service Technician, you have:

  • A valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation 

  • The ability to lift 55 lbs + with or without accommodation 

  • The ability to travel within a multi-zip code territory with up to 80% windshield time 

  • The ability to bend, squat, stoop, or stand for extended periods of time 

  • Complete familiarity with a Windows environment and basic knowledge of PC and Networking (Preferred) 

  • Experience with automated equipment (Preferred)
