Field Service Engineer

Job Description
As a Field Service Representative for a high-tech growth business serving the Chemical Analysis and Life Sciences markets, your primary responsibilities will include installs, repairs and training for Gas Chromatography (GC) and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry instrumentation (GC/MS, GC/QQQ, GC/QTOF) for customers on-site in Connecticut, New York and Northern NJ.
Responsibilities for supporting customers through on-site installation, customer training, repair and troubleshooting of hardware, routine preventative maintenance, qualifications, and verification services. Job focus will be on customer satisfaction by providing customers with high quality services. Other responsibilities may include:
Adherence to environmental health and safety guidelines, managing parts, coordinating resources, training, providing feedback to manufacturing divisions, working with sales forces, and maintaining up to date technical knowledge for assigned products.
Proactively responds to potential equipment or software issues to prevent unplanned interruption of customers' business. Serves as an internal resource on technical issues and manages product escalations Collaborates with Agilent teams such as Support, Sales, Marketing and R&D to provide solutions to customers.
May have knowledge of third-party products.
May deliver internal technical training and maintenance seminars and workshops for field representatives or customers.
May train other field representatives or customers.
May calibrate equipment on-site for large volume customers.
May qualify leads.
Must consent to participate and meet Agilent approved customer/vendor credentialing requirements necessary to gain access to customer sites.
Requirements may include, but are not limited to, proof of identification, proof of certification to perform the work required, customer health and safety requirements, etc.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry, or equivalent.
4+ years of relevant job experience.
Strong logical troubleshooting skills.
Operator level experience with GC, GCMS, GC-QQQ or GC-QTOF is required.
Application knowledges is needed.
Ability to solve, high impact problems related to customer's hardware, software or application. Solution focused.
Genomics experience a plus.
Strong customer relationship skills are needed.
Must be available for up to 70% travel that may require over-night stays.
Additional Details
This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely. Applications for this job will be accepted until at least March 19, 2025 or until the job is no longer posted.
