Facilities Services Manager
We provide fantastic student homes in 78+ buildings across the UK to enable students (UK and International) to really make the most of their time at University. This role requires extensive travel to visit all properties within the portfolio to develop a firm understanding and knowledge of the buildings.
The Facilities Services Manager sits within the Facilities team and has a national remit, being responsible for supporting the facilities service functions within a large portfolio of student accommodation nationwide.
This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership and improve the service delivery for a medium sized, expanding, privately-owned UK portfolio.
Key responsibilities:
• Establish working relationships with appointed service providers and monitor their performance in line with contract SLAs and KPIs.
• Ensure that identified building fabric works (up to a specified value) are instructed to appointed contractors.
• Work with the H&S Manager to ensure that the Site Teams are fully briefed and compliant with RAMS, PTWs, COSHH, Fire Evacuations and Lone Working arrangements
• Provide guidance to Regional Facilities Service Advisors on any Facilities related queries or best practices.
• Demonstrate a customer-centric attitude when faced with challenges and queries and encouraging ‘first fixes’ where possible.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure overall annual budget targets are adhered to and any concerns are managed
and mitigated accordingly.
• Collaborating with the relevant departments to assist in the business achieving its Net Zero goal.
Essential skills:
• Proven experience as a Multisite or Regional Facilities contract Manager or Asset Manager.
• Experience with using Excel and CAFM systems.
• Experience of line managing direct reports.
• Financially astute with a strong commercial focus applied within a large organization.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders and contractors.
Desirable skills:
• Member of Institute of Workplace & Facilities Management.
• IWFM qualification or similar.
• Energy Management experience.
• NEBOSH qualification.
• Project Management experience
• Advanced Excel skills.
