The F135 MRO&U Depot Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing operations activities and execution of disassembly, assembly, test and delivery of F135 engines and modules at the assigned international location.  The Operations Manager works closely with the PW Site Leader and Product Support Provider (PSP) to develop and implement processes and procedures to ensure production priorities are established and commitments are met.  She/he will monitor operations aspects of productivity and process flow to meet F135 Program On-Time Delivery (OTD) and Turnaround-Time (TAT) requirements while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. This role will collaborate with an on-site matrixed team of experienced professionals to assist in maintaining quality and consistency of service by documenting and identifying trends, working directly with the PSP to implement corrective action and establish appropriate improvement plans. The Operations Manager also assist the Site Leader and PSP in the development of forecasts and FDC activation requirements of the MRO&U.

What You Will Do:

  • Oversee Depot maintenance execution of engines & modules at the Japan F135 Depot; key subject matter expert of the Operations discipline within a gated MR&O environment.
  • Ensure training and support tasks are being completed by the PSP in all aspects of MRO&U operations; responsible for and oversees operations activities and execution of the program requirements.
  • Collaborates with the PSP and PW support functions in scheduling and sequencing of operations processes to ensure optimal use of resources; collaborate with PSP and Site Leader to ensure production priorities are communicated to PSP and PW onsite personnel.
  • Facilitate PSP training and execution of Depot capability expansion and workscope increases (FDC, Mini-Module, Nozzle, Augmentor, Back shop repairs, etc.); provide oversight/monitoring of supplier (PSP) production status. Participate in production status calls, determine functional support required and coordinate resolutions when process/system fails to meet program requirements.
  • Track and monitor work-stops and Andons requiring PW closure; routinely present status of work-in-process and performance of Depot operations (DOME, DREP, Working Groups, presentations to executives and customers)
  • Proactively identify process improvement opportunities utilizing the CORE tools and principals to enhance quality, improve turnaround times and reduce risks.

-May include activities that cannot be attributed to a defined Operations discipline

Qualifications You Must Have:                                                                       

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business or a technical field with 10+ years of Operations experience in MRO&U Depot or back shop maintenance; or an advanced degree with 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Must be able to obtain all required work permits and other access requirements and maintain.
  • ​Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.

         

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Familiarity with engine MRO Depot level maintenance.
  • Lean manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with and influence multiple functional groups to reach a common objective; demonstrated experience in understanding and exceeding customer expectations in an MRO operations or production environment.
  • Excellent communication skills; candidate must be comfortable providing briefings at all levels of management; ability to influence decisions downstream and upstream
  • Must be willing to flex schedule to support business demands while on assignment to include working weekends and holiday; ability to work in a self-directed manner

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
