The Boeing Ground Based Defense Segment (GMD) program is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable electronic technician to support the Launch Support System test team. The selected candidate will be responsible to work with a test team to perform Acceptance Test Procedures on electronic hardware. The ability to remain focused on the work and pay attention to details is required. The candidate will work within a small group of engineers and technicians and must be able to communicate well and follow directions. The initial testing is being conducted in a laboratory, but field support is also required on occasion, so some travel is expected.
Position Responsibilities:
Provides technical support for maintenance, testing, repair, overhaul and preventive measures that ensure continued safe and economic operations for customers.
Applies technical knowledge to research, develop, test and evaluate operations, support programs, modifications, repairs and technical data.
Communicates design and operational issues and concerns with Engineering.
Develops in-service correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
Participates in disabled product on-site surveys to assess extent of damage.
Recommends changes to existing test procedures, supports execution of test procedures and coordinates resolution of test anomalies to return products to operational status.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Basic knowledge of electronic design and testing
Experience in the assembly and testing of electronic hardware
Training and certifications in IPC 610, 620, Engage/Disengage, Electrostatic Discharge (ESD), Foreign Object Debris (FOD), bonding and grounding
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Previous experience working on the Ground Based Mid-course Defense Segment (GMD) program
Experience working remotely to test, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electronic equipment
Certifications in IPC J-Stds
