About the role:
We are looking for an Experience Designer - aka an XD - to join The Collective. You’ll bridge the worlds of destinations, strategy, and engagement, helping to craft unique experiences and events for our customers, and consulting with them to define their short- and long-term event strategies. You will collaborate across The Collective and within BCD M&E as we develop the account strategy, build innovative and creative service solutions for both new and existing customers, and you will apply a design lens to the process to ensure we’re making the most of their time together. We translate trends and tailor them to each audience and budget; incorporate best practices in sustainability and inclusivity to make events accessible and fun; recommend content and activations that enhance the event; and develop through-threads to connect destination, message and brand.

 

As an Experience Designer you will:
•    Strategy & Consultation: partner with customers to identify business goals, and develop/implement our solutions  – pre/during/post event.
•    Storytelling: bring destinations and experiences to life in creative proposals and presentations. You will develop, coordinate and manage content and coordinate solution deliverables across internal departments and suppliers.
•    Interdepartmental Collaboration: work closely with the project lead(s) and project team to ensure our solutions address customer needs, are within budget, and can be delivered successfully and on time.
•    Engagement: Develop strategies for networking, engagement and interaction in both in-person and virtual environments.
•    Creative Branding and Messaging: Collaborate with the creative and production teams to design environments and activations (live and virtual) that are accurately integrated into the overarching event design.

 

You are good at: 
•    Building and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues, suppliers, customers, and their partners.
•    Expressing thoughts and ideas (verbally and in writing,) reading the room, and responding to feedback. 
•    Managing conflicting deadlines and priorities when the heat is on
•    You understand modern marketing methodologies including environmental graphics, consumer engagement strategies and measurement, analytics/tracking, social media, etc.
•    Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and proficient or willing to learn Beautiful.ai, Photoshop, InDesign, and Adobe Acrobat Pro

 

You might also have: 
•    8+  years of meetings & incentive industry experience, background in sourcing destinations and building compelling event agendas, developing experiential event strategies, designing event activations, managing incentives, exhibits, events, conferences, etc.
•    Experience in event technology, AR/VR activations, B2C activations, etc.
•    Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Creative Writing, Advertising, Marketing, or Fine Arts is a plus.
•    Solid understanding of modern marketing methodologies including environmental graphics, consumer engagement strategies and measurement, analytics/tracking, social media, etc.
•    Stellar customer service skills including flexible, big-picture, get-to-yes problem solving.
•    Optional: 3ds Max, SketchUp or similar 3d modeling/rendering software.

•   This role is virtual and operates in the Central Time Zone
•   This role may require travel up to 50%

We carefully consider a wide range of compensation factors, including your professional background and experience. The salary range for candidates in applicable jurisdictions in the US for the position of Experience Designer is between $55,000 - $85,000 The actual pay depends on your skills, qualifications, experience, geographical location, and project budget.
