The Executive Director of B2B Content Marketing will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive thought leadership strategy that establishes the company as a trusted authority and industry leader, particularly with B2B, B2I and B2G audiences. The ED will also be responsible for content marketing to help generate and nurture leads for these audiences. This role demands a strategic thinker with exceptional writing and communication skills, capable of translating complex ideas into compelling narratives that resonate with target audiences.

Essential Functions

  • ​Develop and implement a thought leadership strategy and plan that aligns with the company's overall business objectives and brand positioning.
  • Develop and implement a content marketing strategy and plan to generate and nurture leads for B2B, B2I, B2G and other relevant audiences. 
  • Create high-quality, original content, including articles, white papers, blog posts, infographics, social media posts, and presentations, on relevant industry topics.
  • Collaborate with segment and business leaders to understand their products and priorities and generate relevant thought leadership and content marketing strategies to support. 
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and executives to ghostwrite thought leadership pieces on their behalf.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to ensure the company's thought leadership remains relevant and impactful. Proactively recommend topics and create pieces to align with timely news/trends.
  • Measure and analyze the effectiveness of initiatives and adjust strategies as needed.

Competencies

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a proven ability to produce high-quality, engaging content.
  • Strong understanding of the B2B landscape and the ability to identify key trends and issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Results-oriented and data-driven, with a focus on measuring and improving the impact of thought leadership and content marketing initiatives.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in B2B marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful thought leadership programs.

  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience with social media, particularly LinkedIn
  • Self-starter

  • This position may require occasional travel.

For full-time positions, Kaplan has two Salary Grades, this position is a Salary Grade B: $64,000 - $202,600. Actual compensation for this role is determined by several factors including but not limited to job level, candidate's skills, experience, and education, among other factors determined by the business.
