Position Summary

Consolidated Machine & Tool (CMT) is seeking an Estimating Manager to join our growing team. The Estimating Manager Estimator is responsible for the corporate estimating efforts for the machining division of the company. This includes providing estimates for ongoing and development programs, supporting management and the use and development of tools to improve estimating performance. *This is a remote position and works a schedule of Monday thru Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm. The salary range for this position is between $80,000 - $110,000 depending on experience*

Essential Duties

  • Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing multi-site estimating team.
  • Strategic Estimating: Oversee the preparation and approach of detailed and competitive estimates for a wide range of projects across aerospace, defense, and other industries.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously improve estimating processes and methodologies to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and consistency.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the engineering, sales, and production teams to ensure project integration from concept to delivery.
  • Client Engagement: Engage with clients to understand their needs and ensure estimates align with project requirements and expectations.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilize data and analytics to track estimating performance and provide insights for decision-making and strategic planning.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Analyze technical drawings and documentation to prepare accurate estimates for time, cost, materials, and labor.
  • Evaluate and track the cost-effectiveness of projects and compare actual costs to estimates.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on adjustments to cost estimates and project changes.
  • Support management with estimates for planning and scheduling work at a variety of Manufacturing sites.
  • Prepare estimates to include the selecting of vendors or subcontractors and review make-or-buy decisions.
