Epic Client Systems Administrator III - Digital and Technology Partners - Remote, Req#3018725

The Epic Client Systems Administrator III will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and optimization of various Epic applications.

The ideal candidate possesses expertise in Microsoft Windows server administration that will allow them to effectively dig into the challenges presented by interactions between Epic components and the Windows Server ecosystem that those components interact with. The candidate must also demonstrate experience with and ability to contribute to key initiatives such as large-scale data center migrations and exits.
 

  • Implementation and support of the client-server systems environment for Epic software such as Interconnect, Hyperspace, EPS, Web BLOB, Hyperspace Web, BCA, System Pulse, Kuiper, and other Epic Windows based applications.
  • Monitoring system performance, interpreting metrics, and troubleshooting issues as they arise before user-impact occurs.
  • Reviewing related Nova notes and planning and executing appropriate actions before deploying Epic upgrades and updates. 
  • Participation in cross-team efforts to resolve technical issues, chronic problems, and technology integration challenges throughout the health system.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining the procedures, processes, and technology necessary to appropriately manage Epic deployment for large multi-hospital enterprise.
  • Analyzing and reporting on key metrics required for capacity planning and performance management of critical servers and applications.
  • Leading efforts to evaluate current systems and processes and propose strategic options and improvements.
  • Working with project managers, architects, business analysts and other team members to define metrics and performance goals for the application.
  • Provide support after hours when needed, participate in on-call rotation.
     
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • Proven ability to work on a variety of projects
  • Three to five years experience in a similar/related position
  • Prior experience working in a health care environment
  • Ten years combined experience in Epic Client System Management and Microsoft Server System Administration, and/or Epic EMR strongly preferred.
  • The following certifications: Hyperspace (ECSA 101); Web Blob, Business Continuity Access, Epic Print Services (ECSA 102); Hyperspace Web, Interconnect, System Pulse (ECSA 105); MyChart, MyChart Mobile, EpicCare-Link (ECSA 110); Care Everywhere (ECSA 115)
  • Expertise working with servers in a physical, virtual, and cloud environments including migrating workloads between platforms
  • Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) administration
  • Knowledge of networking concepts (load balancing, TCP/IP, DNS) 
  • Sound customer service skills across all levels within an organization with an ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical users
  • Ability to organize and plan work independently in a rapidly changing environment
  • Experience with IT Service Management (ITIL and ITSM) is a plus
  • Understanding of operations in a regulated industry preferably with experience address system requirements for Protected Health Information (PHI), or Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
     

Compensation Statement

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $99,200.00 - $148,800.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
