Job Summary
The Environmental Oversight Specialist II position will conduct environmental compliance evaluations of various small/medium project construction locations and unmanned facilities throughout the Utility. These inspections of projects/unmanned facilities may include, but are not limited to: large power transformers, high voltage switch gear, emergency generator installations/replacements, switch yard reconfigurations, and steady state environmental compliance inspections associated with relevant permits/permit conditions and applicable environmental regulations. The Lines of Business (LOB) within the Utility include Electric Distribution, Electric Transmission, Electric Projects and Construction, Solar, Gas Operations, Gas Construction, Vegetation Maintenance and Asset Management. The primary purpose of the position is to assist the Utility in complying with company procedures and federal, state, and local environmental regulations. Compliance assistance will be achieved by the Environmental Oversight Specialist II by conducting regular assessments and inspections which will be recorded in the Utility's internal inspection management system and subsequently distributed to the appropriate PSE&G internal personnel. The Environmental Oversight Specialist II will assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual report summaries to senior management which may include but are not limited to: Notice of Violations, Agency Contact Memorandums, Environmental Incident Analysis, and Utility Spill Reporting. The Environmental Oversight Specialist II will also assist in conducting annual CRTK/EPCRA evaluations. The Environmental Oversight Specialist II may be required to assist in completing compliance evaluations against environmental permit conditions associated with routine maintenance and construction activities of Vegetation Maintenance and the Transmission, Construction, & Maintenance groups within PSE&G rights of way. Lastly, the Environmental Oversight Specialist II may be requested to assist the Environmental Oversight Specialist III and Senior Environmental Specialist in conducting inspections to prepare for any upcoming internal or external regulatory audits.
Job Responsibilities
- Environmental and Permitting Inspections at small routine construction projects or unmanned facilities for each Utility Line of Business.35%

Job Specific Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Chemistry or other science-related field.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in environmental compliance programs, environmental engineering, or consulting.
- Experience working with environmental regulations and compliance programs.
- Basic knowledge of environmental regulations related to waste management; hazardous substance discharges; CRTK; land use; spill prevention, SPCC, and general air compliance
- Strong computer skills in MS Office
- Good oral and written communications skills.
- Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and satisfactory driving history.
Desired:
- Advanced degree in environmental sciences or civil engineering
